Starks + 1 bastard (who’s basically more Stark than bastard.)
Yeah, Sansa is actually the least “Stark” of all.
Sansa is the LEAST Stark of all? Excuse me what?
Yep, that is my opinion. You, of course, are entitled to yours. :) Starks have this thing of family-over-self. I’ve only read up to Book 3, and so far, Sansa’s the one who has demonstrated the most inclination towards self-preservation. She lied about Mycah, the butcher’s boy, because she couldn’t speak ill of Joffrey, the one she loved back then. She told Cersei about her father’s plans to send her and Arya back to Winterfell despite her father’s plea to keep it in the family. That confession eventually led to Ned Stark’s capture. And she pretended to openly accept the truth of her father’s and brother’s treason for a very long time, so as not to be further harmed by the Lannisters. Still, it’s probably not selfishness, only weakness. Weakness, however, is not a Stark trait. :)
If you think that you’ve got Sansa Stark all wrong. Yes she told on Ned but she was young and she believed her life was going to be a lot different. Everyone makes mistakes. EVERYONE in ASOIAF makes mistakes, betrays, lies, but their failts are all brushed off, all but Sansa’s. And as for the fact that she declared that her brother and mother were rebels it was either stand with the Lannisters or get her head chopped off. Sansa, a 13 year old girl, did what half her family could not do; she played the game of thrones and survived it. The Starks are my favorite family but they are horrible at the game because they have too much honor which eventually gets them all killed.
I completely agree with you: everyone makes mistakes; Sansa is young; she played the game of thrones well while almost everybody else in her family lost it. Great for her. :) But you totally missed the point. The original post gave us a picture of Sansa, Robb, Arya, Rickon, Bran and Jon. The comment was: “Starks + 1 bastard (who’s basically more Stark than bastard.)” I commented, “Yeah, Sansa is actually the least “Stark” of all.” You asked why, and I explained why. Now, you’re saying that the other Starks lost the game, while Sansa survived it. WHICH FURTHER PROVES MY POINT THAT SANSA IS THE LEAST STARK OF THEM ALL. Bold, unconditional bravery killed Robb, captured Arya, and fuels Rickon, Bran and Jon. The same bold, unconditional bravery cannot be found in Sansa. Maybe that’s a good thing, like you say, maybe bold, unconditional bravery is what kills a player of the game of thrones. But my point is, bold, unconditional bravery is a Stark trait that is demonstrated by Sansa’s siblings, and not by Sansa, thus making her the least Stark of them all.
Yes, Diana. This so much. ^
